i'm back
Hello all. Per Bryant's blogging call to arms, here I am back again with a post. Like many others, I too face blogging anxiety as I feel I am severely out of practice. Oh well. I decided to post about my summer reading list. Here it is (titles only...if you want the author, feel free to look it up yourself). In no particular order:
Life of Pi
Memoirs of a Geisha
Ender's Game
Kite Runner
Les Miserables
Count of Monte Cristo
Wuthering Heights
As I Lay Dying
Gulliver's Travels
A Painted House
Alice in Wonderland
Lonesome Dove
Poisonwood Bible
The Secret Life of Bees
Wicked
Princess Bride
Team of Rivals
Robinson Crusoe
A Time to Kill
The Perfect Storm
I plan on checking these books out from the Rockford Public Library, because checking out books from the library makes me feel like a good citizen.
I welcome anyone to add titles or recommend a deletion. Unfortunately, by the time I put my summer reading list in writing I realized that the summer was already into July, and it is pretty much impossible to finish the list by the beginning of the school year. However, since it is a fierce struggle for me to finish books, I pledge to be accountable to my blog by giving an update of my progress at the end of summer.

ender's game was actually the first book i have finished this summer. besides that, life of pi is the only other book on your list that i know i have read.
you should add albert camus' exile and the kingdom, steward o'nan's prayer for the dying (if you liked the plague, and mark haddon's the curious incident of the dog in the night time. oooh, and you should start reading the brothers karamazov with me.
hope your summer is awesome.

Stefani! You have to read Peace Like a River by Leif Enger. You will love it. It is the bomb. P.s. thanks for the reading list--I will consult it when I finish Harry Potter and run out of things to read!
Have fun in Rackfard, you hattie.

Are these in the order you will read them?

loyd, the plague is one of my favorite books ever. I will look into the ones you suggested...although I suspect I will have to eventually rename my summer reading list to "holiday reading list" once school starts and I run out of free time.
lauren, I think I remember you recommending that book before...how did I forget?
Ronnie, the books are in no particular order. I am reading Life of Pi right now, but did you have a suggestion for what to read next?

I recommend Kant's "Metaphysics of Morals." Excellent light reading.

Oh dear. That's a tough question. Do I suggest something that I've already read so that we can talk about it or do I suggest something that I'd like to read so that I get an expert opinion.
